HOD’s Message
I am delighted to welcome you to the Department of Political Science, Easwari School of Liberal Arts, SRM University-AP.
Our department is committed to nurturing critical thinking, intellectual curiosity, and socially engaged learning through our Honours programme in Political Science and PhD programme. We aim to create a vibrant academic environment where students are encouraged to engage deeply with political ideas, institutions, public policy, and contemporary global challenges.
Every aspect of our social lives is influenced by politics – from governance and citizenship to rights and justice, development, and international relations. By studying Political Science, the student is able to analyze such processes and develop their analytical, research, and communication skills required for effective functioning in an ever-changing global environment. Studying Political Science does not only imply acquiring theoretical knowledge but also engaging in critical thinking and social activity.
At the Department of Political Science, learning does not limit itself to the walls of the classroom. The seminars, workshops, lectures, and discussions held here expose the student to various perspectives in politics and society.
The students from our university have a variety of career options in front of them ranging from joining civil services, working in public policy, pursuing academics, engaging in research activities, journalism, international organizations, diplomacy, development sectors, and non-government organizations. We proudly help our students achieve success in their academic pursuits as well as their careers.
