About the Centre

The SRM University-AP, Amaravati, entering its 9th year of existence, strives for excellence in research through its strong multi-disciplinary schools and departments working on cutting-edge societal problems. The university has made its place on the national and global arena in producing high-quality research. The impact of this can be seen in the number and quality of research papers in reputed journals, patents granted, and technology transfers. It is therefore high time that the Centre for Inter-disciplinary Research be established with faculty drawn from different departments and inducting truly interdisciplinary faculty from around the globe. The centre’s primary objective will be to promote interdisciplinary research by striking optimum balance in pure/ fundamental and applied/ translation research, enhance research productivity, and foster a culture of innovation by addressing critical challenges in healthcare, water, energy, environment and other socio-economic needs at regional, national and global levels.
