B.Sc. Computer Science

The Bachelor of Science is intended for students wishing to study computer science, enter the computer field, attend a graduate programme in the computer sciences, or get started in research. The undergraduate minor is intended for students with an interest in Computer Science, but only enough time to complete a few courses. B.Sc. Computer Science (Hons.) is one of the most popular programmes in the IT domain. This field has the potential to propel your career. It is a consistently growing field with a large variety of job opportunities as the industry and demand grow. This undergraduate program deals with the subjects and topics related to computer science, computer applications, and their services. The three-year-long programme has been specifically designed for aspirants looking for a career in computers. The course covers all aspects of computers, right from the basic fundamentals of computers to database systems & advanced courses like C++, Java, etc. With a revamped curriculum, the B.Sc. Computer Science programmes open a wide array of opportunities for students, including the possibility to attend summer schools and global conferences. The programme also offers access to Hatchlab Research Centre, SRM AP’s startup incubation center, which provides funding and mentorship for student-led startups.

Undergraduate Research Opportunities Project (UROP)

Undergraduate Research Opportunities Project (UROP) is an innovative idea being facilitated to 3rd year Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) students in their 6th semester. UROP is made compulsory for all 3rd year CSE students so as to engage them in research activities at an early stage.
Some of these projects are being converted to Research publications in Conferences and Journals. Students have participated enthusiastically throughout the semester in UROP. UROP also gave opportunity for the faculty members to get to know the capabilities of the students whom they are mentoring.
Overall, UROP has ushered in an innovative and research environment among all the members of the CSE department. UROP is also rightfully endowed with 2 credits to make it a rewarding experience to the students.

Semester Abroad Programme (SAP)

SRM University- AP, Andhra Pradesh encourages and supports its students to go for Semester Abroad Programme (SAP) by providing financial support. We have collaboration with the world’s finest universities like the University of California Berkely, the University of Wisconsin-Madison for SAP where students get the opportunity to showcase their talent and knowledge imbibed at SRM University-AP in a highly competitive environment.
SAP influence the perspectives, personalities, and academic life of the students positively. From enhancing a global network to experiencing a new culture, it can be a life-changing experience for students. With the great vision of producing world leaders at SRM University- AP, 23 students have gone for SAP from the CSE department in the very first three years of its journey (20 students to the University of California Berkely with full financial support and 3 students to the University of Wisconsin-Madison).
