About the Workshop

Quantum mechanics is the fundamental theory that describes the behaviour of matter and energy at microscopic scales, revealing phenomena such as superposition, entanglement, and quantum interference that have no classical counterparts. These principles not only deepen our understanding of the physical world but also form the foundation of quantum computation, a rapidly advancing field that leverages quantum effects to process information in fundamentally new ways. Quantum computation harnesses these unique properties through quantum bits, or qubits, enabling new approaches to information processing. By exploiting quantum effects, quantum computers have the potential to solve certain problems more efficiently than classical computers, making them promising tools for applications in cryptography, optimization, simulation of quantum systems, and machine learning.

This workshop introduces the essential concepts of quantum mechanics and explores how they give rise to quantum computing, providing participants with a foundation for understanding quantum algorithms, quantum information, and the transformative potential of quantum technologies.
