This year’s theme, “Stories for a Changing World,” reflects the festival’s interest in the ways literature and storytelling help us understand a rapidly changing world. Across three days, ALF will explore questions of memory, identity, ecology, technology, mythology, visual storytelling, reading, cultural traditions, and the future through conversations with an engaging range of voices. The programme features acclaimed writers and thinkers including Mini Krishnan, Appupen, Dinesh C. Sharma, Samhita Arni, Rajat Chaudhuri, Sheela Tomy, Roopa Pai, Charbak Dipta, Madan Meena and Ravi Korisettar, alongside contemporary voices from the digital reading and publishing ecosystem. The festival will also feature a creative writing workshop with Samhita Arni, the inter-college and university quiz Prahelika, school engagements and cultural performances. The confirmed guest profiles reflect the breadth of the programme, spanning literature, graphic storytelling, environmental writing, science journalism, archaeology, children’s literature, visual culture and contemporary reading practices.
